Clinical Supervision with Julie Thomason
Welcome, I'm glad you're here! I'm Julie Thomason, RCC-ACS (she/her), the founder of BC Therapy Co., a collective of exceptional clinicians based in Chilliwack, British Columbia and serving clients and therapists across BC. As an Approved Clinical Supervisor and Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, I specialize in providing virtual therapy and clinical supervision specifically for women and gender-diverse individuals.
My approach is systemic and rooted in a deep commitment to safety, respect, and collaboration. Whether you are navigating the complexities of your practice, exploring your identity as a therapist, or building your hours toward registration, I offer a supportive space where your unique voice is honored. Together, we’ll cultivate the confidence and competence you need to thrive in your practice.
Clinical Supervision Can Help You Feel More Grounded
Clinical supervision offers a space to feel more grounded and confident in your practice. Whether you need guidance on everyday challenges or want to explore a specific case in depth, I am here to support you. I provide thoughtful, strengths-based support to both emerging and experienced therapists who wish to deepen their insight and refine their skills. I also welcome consultations from other healthcare professionals, valuing collaborative care as we support our shared clients.
A Compassionate Space for Growth
At the heart of ethical, meaningful, and effective clinical work lies the support of a trusted supervisor.
A supervisor helps you stay attached and grounded as you navigate the complexities of practice. Supervision offers a compassionate and trauma-informed space to grow with integrity, reflect deeply, and ask questions without judgment. It is a place to develop both your clinical skills and your confidence, ensuring you feel supported in your journey.
I especially enjoy supporting emerging therapists and women/gender-diverse clinicians as they explore their voice, values, and professional identity. Together, we will create a collaborative environment where you can discover the kind of clinician you want to be. Through our sessions, you will begin to feel more anchored in your work and more aligned with the therapist you are becoming.
I am here to walk this path with you.
My Supervision Style
My supervision style is authentic, collaborative, and culturally humble, with a firm foundation in trauma-informed and systemic care. While I prioritize a supportive and strength-based environment, I am also willing to be directive when needed to ensure your clinical growth and client safety.
We can work together on case conceptualization and treatment planning for a wide range of clinical cases. I also guide clinicians in exploring self-of-the-therapist issues, such as family of origin, personal mental health, or relationship history, and how these dynamics influence your work.
My ultimate aim is to foster your growth and confidence, helping you deepen your clinical skills and solidify your unique professional identity. I am committed to creating a safe, affirming space for women and gender-diverse clinicians to explore their work without fear of judgment. Whether you are just beginning your career or seeking to refine your expertise, you will find a grounded partner in this process.
Clinical Supervision Experience
I have supervised and trained clinical counselling interns at the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre since 2020. This dynamic, live-supervision model included real-time feedback, TED-style teaching moments, live role-plays, group sessions, and guest speakers covering a wide range of clinical topics.
I completed my Clinical Supervision Fundamentals Course in 2020 and bring that depth of knowledge to my private practice. Here, I offer virtual supervision via phone or video, meeting you wherever you are. I am also an Approved Practicum Supervisor for students from Yorkville University, supporting the next generation of clinicians.
